In connection with the opening of Eureka Pumps new workshop in Hammerfest, Eureka attended the Barents Sea Conference and Expo 2015 which took place in Hammerfest April 20th -22nd . The conference  is the most relevant forum in the Northern Norway for the discussion of oil & gas related activities, political terms of reference, industrial and BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES and energy sector politics. In addition to conference participation Eureka had its own booth at the Expo.

One of the main attractions was the fact that the Goliat FPSO arrived at shore Hammerfest three days before the conference started and the conference delegates had the opportunity to see this giant from a ferry organized by the Barents Sea Conference. Eureka Pumps field service engineers entered the Goliat FPSO during the conference to assist ENI with the ballast system, which was one of the crucial activities for the float off. Eureka Pumps supplied many of the critical pump applications on Goliat like Ballast Pumps, Sea Water Pumps and Cargo Pumps.

During 12-14 November Eureka Pumps participated at Offshore Korea in Busan together with Fire Protection Engineering. This was supported well with many people visiting us.

South Korea is the largest market for Norwegian petroleum-related supply outside The Norwegian Continental Shelf. Dave Minshall from Eureka also attended a yard roadshow organised by Intsok. Joining the Norwegian suppliers were important delegates from Statoil, the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and the Embassy.

Here is a link to an article written by the Vice Minister on behalf of Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy.

The big emphasis from Statoil and MPE was ‘On time, On Cost and Quality as Contracted’, therefore it was a clear message and argument for the Korean yards to engage with the suppliers of Norway who have the knowledge, experience and capabilities to deliver products and services for the North Sea according to NORSOK etc. Equally this is an important message for all the vendors.
